Shilin Night Market is one of the hottest tourist hotspots in Taiwan, known for its impressive variety of mouth-watering foods and range of merchandises. Reportedly, Shilin Night Market will be moving to new location in this November.

Many locals believe that based on past experiences, by shifting Shilin Night Market to the basement food court would be equivalent to annihilating the market. The new location will be at Shilin Shi Chang Basement and would require approximately 7 to 8 minutes walk from MRT compare to the former location which is just 1 minute walk away from MRT.
 

 
The daily average visitors to Shilin Night Market is about 50,000 to 60,000 people. Stall vendors of Shilin expect only 70% of the customers would return to the new location, due to its geographical location, space and ventilation.

Will the shifting cause the downfall of Shilin Night Market ? Does it really affects the influx of customers? Will the transformation cause the once familiar night market to lose its characteristics and appeal as night market like the way it suppose to be? Nobody knows.
